Community Justice Partnerships

We provide targeted legal help through our Partners in Place (PiP) model.

Our Partners in Place (PiP) model recognises that for many of our clients, a lawyer is not always the first person they turn to for legal help.

We know that people facing disadvantage are more likely to experience legal problems and often experience multiple legal problems at the same time.

We also know that targeted and integrated legal help, delivered at the right time and the earliest possible opportunity, can help resolve problems that can otherwise escalate, leading to more problems, greater disadvantage and higher costs.

Partnerships in action

We partner with 30+ community organisations and services in our catchment area to ensure those with the most need are connected to legal help. Our approach includes regular outreach at key service locations as well as warm referrals directly from workers. Our Partners in Place include:

  • Better Health Network
  • Sacred Heart Mission
  • The Salvation Army
  • Jewish Care
  • Good Shepherd
  • St Kilda Gatehouse
  • Uniting
  • Vincent Care
  • Vixen
