Get Help

Our free legal services are for people in the cities of Port Phillip, Stonnington and Bayside, as well as sex workers living anywhere in Victoria.

Our services are available via referral only (excluding sex workers). Referrals are made via Victoria Legal Aid and local community organisations.

Sex workers from across Victoria who would like to access the Sex Worker Legal Program are welcome to self-refer.

How to be referred

Please call Victoria Legal Aid on 1300 792 387.

If you are eligible for our services, Victoria Legal Aid will send through your details, and we will be in contact to arrange a legal advice appointment for you. Please be aware that we cannot provide immediate legal advice over the phone.

Unfortunately, we are unable to triage enquiries in-person at our St Kilda office. All in-person enquiries will be directed to the Victoria Legal Aid phoneline.

If you are connected to a local community organisation that works with Southside Justice, a worker or case manager can make a referral on your behalf.

Eligibility

Eligibility depends on a range of factors, including the type of legal issue and the income of the person making the enquiry. Typically, our services are for people on a low income (for example, those receiving a Centrelink payment); however, eligibility is not always solely based on income and can vary depending on individual circumstances.

Accessibility

We strive to meet the individual needs of people accessing our services. Please let us know how we can best support you to engage with us.

Information about Translating and Interpreting services and the National Relay Service are available on our Contact page.
